The world today is far from simple and nor easy to understand. What is apparent is that social class or money is the fundament for political and military power in many parts of the world. Even in our small pond positions in society seem to be hereditary and you inherit most, both socially and economically, if you are born in the Oslo area. If you have something interesting to contribute, it´s quite OK to be from another, more exotic part of the country. However, you ought then to settle down in the central region, or you are in danger of being defined as something special, something strange, something exotic, never to be taken heed of.
Scandinavia is at the very top of the affluent societies, where more and more time is invested in creating a fasade of ourselves. In the most extreme cases the very creation of our lives becomes a full time job and the brand must be sold in every channel. Names will not be mentioned, but we all know someone. A beautiful ass in a daily is an example of this phenomena - an empty and sad struggle to be sure.
But we are not alone to live good lives. We are all together outclassed and in some connections not worth to be paid attention to at all. We all know about the development in the USA where wealth is being accumulated by a tiny group of people. Then it´s no big deal if production is moved to so called low cost countries. Ironically it appears that these economies are emerging. However, they are dependent on selling goods to former industrial countries that are losing purchasing power. Behind, the capitalists are waiting patiently for politicians to to brave the way for risky obstacles. When the coast is cleared, the sharks once more appear. Before we know it, the sale of shares is in fool swing on the stock exchanges in New York, London, and Tokyo.
So, what can be done to get rid of the economic collapses happening at regular intervals? Perhaps I will write about this another time.
